About The MBM Group

The MBM Group is based in Newcastle, Co Down, N Ireland. Initially the Company was established in 1997 to provide educational software. It has since diversified into a wide range of activities. These include: the provision of business/ educational software and hardware; promotional CD ROMs; web design; ICT training; and telecom services for businesses and schools. The Company has recently set up an office in Geneva. MBM Europe provides similar services to European businesses and schools.

The Management Team

Founder/Managing Director: Michael Boyd.
Michael, who is a graduate of Queen's University, Belfast, taught in High Schools before setting up MBM. He has held senior posts, including Deputy Head and Departmental Head of English, Classics and Careers. He gained invaluable ICT experience both as an administrator and a teacher. Michael has also worked as an organisational consultant in Eastern Europe for a US Institute. His knowledge of the worlds of business and education makes him ideally placed to offer guidance regarding resources.

Director of Sales and Marketing: Geraldine O'Neill
Geraldine has worked in the private sector in Ireland and the USA. She has held senior Sales and Marketing posts within the financial services industry prior to setting up a company to promote golfing holidays. She is the founder of Xcellencia, which specialises in marketing, public relations and event management. Geraldine brings to MBM extensive experience in the areas of customer care, sales and marketing.

Director of Business Development: Jim Curry
Jim, a former teacher, has held senior management posts in Primary Schools both as Head and Deputy Head. He holds a Masters degree from the University of Ulster. He left the public sector to set up a promotions company, TJC. Jim brings to MBM a wealth of experience, especially in the area of special needs. The MBM Group is anxious to expand and diversify: as Director of Development, Jim would like to hear from companies who are in interested in partnerships.

Managing Director, MBM Europe: Maurice McAdam
Maurice heads up the European office in Geneva. After graduating from Queen's University, Belfast, he moved to Switzerland to take up a teaching post in a college. He recently left teaching to join the MBM Group. Maurice holds degrees from Geneva University and Essex (a Masters in Linguistics). He is now ideally placed to secure the expansion of MBM in Europe.
